Trying to pick my jaw off the floor after skimming through a 100 page contract to calculate a prospective client’s Variable Annuity expenses - 3.9%!!!!!!

Forgive my ignorance, is that a high percentage and are 100 page contracts normal for this kind of thing?

That is ridiculously high, imagine paying almost 4% in fees? It has been diminshing her returns substantially over the years. That many pages because there were a few policies.
