Good question Ana... I think it's ok for what it is (Rails platform that you host and can customize as you wish). I think it's better than Magento but if your ecommerce needs are not crazy complicated, I usually suggest clients go with Shopify. Their platform is pretty intuitive and developer-friendly for most needs. If you want to do something super complicated, you can do that too with Shopify but it could get expensive.
